Log a meal

Updated · 1 minute read

Open Log a meal, take a photo, and Daryl names the foods, estimates the amounts and gives a range for calories and macros. Fix anything with a tap, then save. You can also scan a barcode or search for a food.

Where the numbers come from

The foods and amounts come from the photo. Every calorie and gram of protein, carbs or fat comes from a public food database, never from a guess. Estimates miss by about a third and usually run low, so Daryl shows ranges and weekly trends rather than a precise daily total.

The photo

It is read on Daryl's own servers and never stored anywhere. What Daryl read from it is kept for a day so a late save still works, then deleted.

Kids, teens and limits

Teens and children get a food journal with no numbers; a parent can note what a child ate. Each plan has a daily number of photos. Barcodes and searches are never counted.
