Android and Android Auto

Updated · 1 minute read

The Android app can be your phone's default assistant, so a long press on the home button or power key opens Daryl. It also works in the car through Android Auto, where you talk and Daryl answers out loud.

Setting it up

Install the app, sign in with the six-character code at getdaryl.com/pair, and choose Daryl when Android asks which assistant to use. You can change that in Android's settings at any time.

In the car

With Android Auto connected, say what you need: move an appointment, add to a list, ask what's next. Daryl keeps answers short and reads them out. Nothing on the screen needs a tap while you drive.

On the phone

Reminders arrive as notifications, each one once. Daryl can open apps, play music and set the volume when you ask, and can write meals you log to Health Connect if you turn that on.
