Hey Daryl
Updated · 1 minute read
"Hey Daryl" is the wake word. It is off until you turn it on, and when it is on, the listening happens on the device itself: your Mac, your Android phone, or the browser tab you opened. Nothing is sent anywhere until you have said the wake word and asked something.
Turning it on
Settings › General on the web, the Hotkeys pane on the Mac, or the app's settings on Android. Each device has its own switch; turning it on in one place turns on nothing else.
What it can hear
Only the wake word, until you say it. After that, your request, which is sent like any other. Daryl never listens in the background otherwise.
