Child profiles and the kids area are opening in stages. Until they are open in your household, Daryl holds nothing about a child beyond what an adult chooses to write down. When they open, this notice is what applies.
What we collect about a child
A nickname and a birth year. Routine, chore and allowance-point records. Stories you choose to save. What your child asked in the kids area, kept 24 hours. Time used. No email address, no photos of your child, no voiceprint and no face data.
How we use it
Only to run the kids tools you turn on. Never for ads, never to train AI models, never sold.
Who processes it
Daryl's own servers or your device, never an outside AI company. We share none of your child's information with anyone. Our hosting providers store it encrypted with your household's own key and use it for nothing else. Daryl's own servers are not switched on yet, so no AI reads anything from or about a child; timers, routines and chores still work.
Voice
Your child's voice is turned into text on Daryl's own servers and the audio is deleted right away. Until those servers are on, the kids area has no voice.
How we check you are the parent
A $0.50 charge to your card, refunded the same day. We keep a reference to the charge, never the card number.
How long we keep it
Requests: 24 hours. Routines, chores and points: while the profile exists. Saved stories: until you delete them. Everything: within 30 days of deleting the profile or of the January after your child turns 13. The full schedule is on How long Daryl keeps things.
Your choices
Review what Daryl holds, delete it, or stop further collection from the child's page in Me › Household. When your child turns 13 you choose: a teen account in your household, or delete.
