Add your calendar

Updated · 1 minute read

Daryl plans your day around the calendar you already keep. There are two ways to add one: connect Google in Settings › Connections, or paste a read-only calendar link from iCloud, Outlook or any app that gives you one. Reading is all Daryl does unless you also say yes to changes.

Google Calendar and Tasks

Connect Google from Settings › Connections. Daryl asks for reading first. Adding, moving or deleting events, and adding tasks to a Daryl list in Google Tasks, is a separate yes, asked once. Daryl only deletes events it added, and every change shows with Undo.

A calendar link

Any app that gives you a private calendar address works: iCloud, Outlook, a school calendar, a sports team. Paste it on the Connections page. Daryl reads the events to plan around them and never writes to the link.

Gmail, if you want it

On the same page you can let Daryl read recent booking, school, bill and appointment emails to add events and reminders, each with Undo. It is read-only, skips promotions and social mail, and never sends anything. Turning it off deletes what Daryl found.

Questions

Does Daryl change my calendar?

Only if you say yes to that, separately from reading. It deletes only events it added, and each change has Undo.

Can each person add their own?

Yes. Connections are per person. What you share with the household is a separate choice.
