Medication reminders that reach a caregiver

DARYL reminds a person when a dose isn't marked, then their caregiver if it's still not marked. How it works, how to set it up and what it doesn't do.

Updated

DARYL reminds a person when a medication dose isn't marked as taken, and if it still isn't marked, it tells their caregiver. The person is reminded 15 minutes after the dose time and each caregiver 45 minutes after. This helps families looking after an aging parent without calling to check on every dose.

How the reminder steps up

  1. A dose is scheduled, for example a pill at 2:00.
  2. If it isn't marked as taken 15 minutes later, the person gets a reminder (2:15).
  3. If it's still not marked 45 minutes after the dose time, each caregiver gets a message (2:45).
  4. Marking the dose at any point stops the next step.
  5. "As needed" medicines are never chased.

Setting it up

  • Add the person to your household, or add the medication to your own profile.
  • Tell DARYL the medication, the dose times and who the caregiver is, by typing or talking.
  • Refills and appointments go in the same place, and DARYL reminds the right person before they're due.

What it doesn't do

DARYL keeps track of medications and appointments. It doesn't give medical advice, change doses, or replace a pharmacist or doctor. If a conversation turns serious, it follows the safety and crisis protocol. Health information is handled under the consumer health data privacy policy.
